Point Stephen Colbert

Well, since the Daily Show video got me in the mood…this older one with Stephen Colbert and a guy from the Sierra Club is just as funny…and effective. :-)

Sorry…embed wouldn’t work…so you’ll have to click-through to it.

Point Daily Show (and Kudos)

Hot Air titled the post that included this video, "Must watch: 'Daily Show' destroys liberal columnist over 'civility' hypocrisy."

Onesies

First I'll be up front and say that just because some bozo associated with the Occupy protests leaves a baby alone it doesn't mean anything about the Occupy participants in general.

Unless, of course, a lot of them are doing it…or other unsafe things with their kids like putting a 4 year-old on tracks to stop a train. Or to block people trying to exit a convention center. Or to block cars. Or as human shields.

Well…I wasn’t really going to pile on…this really was only because I thought it was pretty funny that this description of the abandoned baby at the beginning of the article:

An infant’s cries rang through the Occupy DC encampment in McPherson Square Wednesday morning, and when a group went to investigate they found only a baby girl alone in a tent, wearing a onesie and mittens.

Was followed at the end of the article by this:

About 30 minutes later, Schlosser said, a man returned to the encampment and identified himself as the baby’s father. Police arrested the man, charging him with attempted second-degree cruelty to children.

"Mid 40s, rainy, onesie, alone," Schlosser said, describing the circumstances that led police to arrest the man.

When I first read it it sounded it like they were describing the bad father…I mean…couldn’t you imagine an Occupy DC protester wearing a onesie? :-)

Scientists Can See in the Future and…

Per Ace of Spades HQ:

A top-secret experiment at the Large Hadron Collider has captured footage of the reaction of Democrats all over the United States to President Obama’s unexpected! loss in the 2012 Presidential election:

Windmills: 0, Reality: 14,036

Earlier this week two windmill links popped up in sites I follow. The first was about 14,000 abandoned wind turbines:

From Minnesotans for Global Warming: “The symbol of Green renewable energy, our savior from the non existent problem of Global Warming, abandoned wind farms are starting to litter the planet as globally governments cut the subsidies

taxes that consumers pay for the privilege of having a very expensive power source that does not work every day for various reasons like it’s too cold or the wind speed is too high.”

The second was about the Dutch fall out of love with windmills:

The 36 turbines -- each one the height of a 30-storey building -- produce enough electricity to meet the needs of more than 100,000 households each year.

But five years later the green future looks a long way off. Faced with the need to cut its budget deficit, the Dutch government says offshore wind power is too expensive and that it cannot afford to subsidize the entire cost of 18 cents per kilowatt hour -- some 4.5 billion euros last year.

I was actually in favor of windmills...including one(s) they want to put here in Antrim, NH. I'm not so sure anymore if they really can't survive without subsidies...
